Thomas Jefferson, a Very Remarkable Man

Received by e-mail. Dates (ages) yet to be verified.

Thomas Jefferson was a very remarkable man who started learning very early in life and never stopped.

· At 32, was a Delegate to the Second Continental Congress.

· At 33, wrote the Declaration of Independence.

· At 33, took three years to revise Virginias legal code and wrote a Public Education bill and a statute for Religious Freedom.

· At 36, was elected the second Governor of Virginia succeeding Patrick Henry.

· At 40, served in Congress for two years.

· At 60, obtained the Louisiana Purchase doubling the nation's size.

· At 61, was elected to a second term as President.

· At 65, retired to Monticello.

· At 80, helped President Monroe shape the Monroe Doctrine.

· At 81, almost single-handedly created the University of Virginia and served as its first president.

· At 83, died on the 50th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence along with John Adams

Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. Jefferson really knew his stuff. A voice from the past to lead us in the future:

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: "This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

"When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe."
    Thomas Jefferson

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
    Thomas Jefferson

"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."
    Thomas Jefferson

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
    Thomas Jefferson

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."
    Thomas Jefferson

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
    Thomas Jefferson

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
    Thomas Jefferson

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
    Thomas Jefferson

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
    Thomas Jefferson

    Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

TSA Nude Search vs Pat Down Molestation, what a choice

Of course this isn’t happening the way millions of travelers describe it. (BS) There are hundreds of opinions, stories, video, images, jokes and cartoons on the subject. I’d hope I can link as many of those items as possible so I’ll try at least a few to get the ball rolling. But, did anyone ever really stop to think that this symptom is a smoke screen for the real problems???

Why are there such extreme “security measures” in the first place? Because we’re afraid of terrorists killing people on planes, or worse, using planes as missiles against hardened targets like on 9/11. These processes need to be perfect to prevent this from happening, but they aren’t. They can never be. The only way to prevent it is to stop using airplanes. Well, with everyone complaining and threatening to drive, take a train or stay home, this could be the effect the “terrorists” actually wanted in the first place. Make us work less, play less, travel less, and even shut down the airline industry. Although the TSA and Homeland Security may be willing accomplices, the fact is that the real enemy is still our enemy, radical Islam.

To the point. Get rid of illegal aliens. Stop terrorists before they get on transport headed to the U.S. Scan packages, crates, luggage, and containers travelling within and toward the U.S. Verify that people are who they say they are (no plastic masks.) Kill Osama Bin Laden and anyone who works for him and anyone who takes his place, and that’s just a start, of course. There are plenty of other solutions no one wants to know about like allowing passengers to follow the second amendment and carry weapons…unless they are suicidal. Scan clothing for chemicals associated with banned substances or volatile chemicals, etc.

There will always be a way to beat the system, whatever system is in place. To be politically correct yet grope young children or keep nude photos of anyone and everyone that passes through a body scanner is worse than unethical, immoral, and illegal, it is unconstitutional as well. Why don’t we shoot someone carrying a bomb in their underwear, on-sight? Because it would be unethical, immoral, illegal, and unconstitutional. Or is it because it is politically incorrect?

For now, the only answer is to shut down the airlines in the only PC way we all know how. Support the unions and regular business fliers and refuse to fly or at least refuse the body scan (opt out) for the public groping option that will shut down security screening and/or delay flights. Here is some more thorough reading on the topic…

Opting-Out of a Full-Body Scan? Get Ready for the TSA's New Molestation Pat-Down

Opinion: New TSA Security Measures Go Too Far: Seen Naked or 'Enhanced' Pat-Down? I'll Drive, Thanks

Public Protests as TSA Torpedoes Constitution

I suggest business travelers try to work more with technology and conduct remote conferences or work remotely via telecommuting. Vacationers might consider driving since trains are expensive and buses, lets just not go there. Rent a car if necessary, especially if you would have done it at the airport of your destination anyway. Then, fight back by having PROFESSIONALS run TSA, make the Airlines take care of their own security, and remove PC from security once and for all. What are your thoughts? Who has a related site to link here? I’m not looking forward to MY next flight…are you?

Subject: A Different Slant On The Obama Presidency

Received from a close friend:

Check it out--like a double dose of antidepressant!!

One 82-year-old lady loves Obama and she may have a very good point. She says that Obama is amazing, and is rebuilding the American dream! She gives us an entirely new slant on the "amazing" job Obama is doing, and she says that she will thank God for the President. Keep reading for her additional comments and an explanation.

When discussing Obama, she says

1. Obama destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary's presidential aspirations - something no Republican was ever able to do.

2. Obama killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - no more Kennedys trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home.

3. Obama is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes! Dennis Moore had never lost a race. Evan Bayh had never lost a race. Byron Dorgan had never lost a race. Harry Reid - soon to be GONE! These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed. By the end of 2010, dozens more will be gone. Just think, in December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles, they had picked up 14 Senate seats and 52 House seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. However, in just one year, Obama put a stop to all of this and will probably give the House - if not the Senate - back to the Republicans.

4. Obama has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Sadly, every generation seems to need to re-learn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. Obama is bringing home the lesson very well Liberals tax, borrow and spend. Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America. Liberals want to take over the economy. Liberals think they know what is best for everyone Liberals are not happy until they are running YOUR life

5. Obama has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one year, he has rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of freedom loving Americans. Name one other time when you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America!

6. Obama, with his "amazing leadership," has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded, or moved off-shore.

7. In all honesty, one year ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life. Not afraid of the economy, but afraid of the direction our country was going. I thought, Americans have forgotten what this country is all about. My neighbors and friends, even strangers, have proved to me that my lack of confidence in the greatness and wisdom of the American people has been flat wrong

8. When the American people wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them! Barack Obama has served to wake up these great Americans.

Again, I want to say: "Thank you, Barack Obama!" After all, this is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed!!

November 2nd is HUGE!!!!

Please encourage others to Vote.

Legally Make Barack Obama a Half-Term President

Simply put, elect a TEA Party coalition this November and make a veto-proof majority out of the House and Senate. Since anything that is DONE today cannot be undone without the States or the President’s help, it’s pretty obvious why they’re cramming everything now.

It’s time to get the “Contract with America” mindset again. This time, we need to do away with ALL career politicians. George Washington didn’t need a term limit to leave and remember folks, he could have been King George if he wanted it. But today, the BASTARDS don’t get the hint. The machine puts morons on ballots, morons go to the polls and vote for them, and what do you think we’re going to get??? That’s rhetorical so don’t wait for an answer. Yeah, if I vote for them I am one as well. I hope it isn’t too late to change.

For all of the caucuses in DC today we need just one to make a real difference, the TEA Party Caucus. Right now, real conservative Democrats, Independents, and Republicans can start it and sign up others. Take a pledge and, don’t worry, we can hold their feet to the fire. Come November, we can score them and vote IN the RIGHT folks and get rib of the riff-raff. After WE the PEOPLE are heard; the Constitution restored; IRS, Dept. of Education, and other illegitimate agencies are abolished, then they can consider leaving office or installing Term Limits.

My agenda is Term Limits first, just in case anyone asks, but I know there are more pressing matters that could make that fight moot very soon.

At the very least, anyone who has NOT upheld their oath of office to protect the Constitution should be jailed, then officially removed from office. Today would be good time for that to start.

Thank you for considering my rant. Valid comments, pro or con, will be considered and approved.

China warns Obama

Here’s a headline that caught my attention.

China warns against Obama-Dalai Lama meeting

It has finally come to this. China OWNS Obama, as it owns most of the US (or that’s what it seems.)

Quick solution:

Destroy China?! I don’t think so, even if we wanted to, it was practical, and they’re as bad as we think.

Stop paying them back!? No again.

What about the UN!?! There’s a joke in there somewhere.

No, nothing that simple. It’s as if I just realized that my kid’s cell phone bill is way out of control, and it’s my fault, so I’m embarrassed and don’t know where to turn. The simple answer, on the cell phone issue, is take away the cell phone. With China, it’s like Washington is our child and the cell phone bill is thousands of times larger than our own mortgage. That’s embarrassing. So sit back, here’s the answer…or at least the start of one.

Start by telling China to “Shut the F… Up!!!”

Next, either throw ALL of the “Bums” out of Washington or sit down and let them know they are all going to be out of work this coming November, so that they should start looking for a new job NOW!!! Anything illegal will put them in jail, so be careful. Fire everyone from useless, bloated Departments such as Education, Labor, Transportation, Energy, Agriculture, HHS; and dozens of Commissions and Committees. Oh, and with no “employees”, close them all. Of course, what happens when these useless, bloated entities stop spending money? We will have just increased the unemployment roles. That’s scary, isn’t it? Then we’ll need to get business back in full force, so cut the capital gains taxes and income taxes. You think to yourself, why would that help these people who were working for these useless, bloated agencies? I don’t think it would but anyone with marketable skills could find work, get some additional training and find a job, or just start a business. The rest, why would we really care!? If they had no skills why were they working for US in the first place, and why were we paying them???

Libtards and Progressives, get off the manure pile you’ve created and start making America Great again. Yes, I mean move to Cuba. Or maybe take your bleeding hearts to Mexico and help them out, and bring a few million expatriates with you while your at it. But stop screwing us over. Your days are numbered anyway. You won’t win by “Evolution” since we’re awake now, and “WE” would kick your A$$es if you attempted a Revolution.

Now, as I said, this is just a start. Few believe this is even possible, but how did the U.S. survive so long without all of the NEW and IMPROVED entitlement programs, Departments and agencies, only to get MORE screwed up after each and every one was tried? Everyone know by now that most of the Federal Government bloat was create to “slowly” take over the government and expand it to the point where all of our lives are completely controlled by these institutions. So, like an eye-sore of an old fence we’ve inherited from the previous owners, it’s time to take it down…all of it, and get back to where we are thriving again in Liberty, in Commerce, and in Health. We can then pay our debts and leave the rest of the world to fend for themselves. Oh yeah, the UN…Relic. Send it to Europe where it belongs and stop giving them my money.

Sexting Message from School to our Kids

This Message is a Little Disturbing

It was sent to (apparently) Parents in the school district. I’m not sure if this response is warranted or appropriate, which is why I’m doing it before I think to hard about it. The reason for the message is obvious to me. However, not for the surface reason we might think. There is this thought that there is an epidemic of a serious nature that our kids are involved in and they may need to be controlled or cured. No, that’s definitely not the reason. It is PURELY for the School’s “Public Information Officer” to show that she has control of our kids and is asking for “Help” protecting them.

OK, here’s the real problem: My kids have cell phones for emergencies and for the simple fact that if and when they need to make contact with us, the RESPONSIBLE parents, they can. My son received so many unwanted text messages from a single girl last spring that I had that service turned off. Did you know you can BLOCK text messages? Really!? Why don’t you then!? OK, not my problem. If you’re NOT a responsible parent, it’s also NOT my problem until it affects my family or crosses some other threshold. Is there some LAW in the works here? Did the school want to stop this “behavior” without help from the Local, State, or Federal authorities? Why present this to the Kids? Was it to show them how good kids can make a mistake that they can help them avoid, or is it like sex education and were just explaining it so they can take better pictures??? I’m not being obscene or pig headed, I just want to know who gave these IDIOTS a degree, a job, and the RIGHT to infect MY KIDS with this garbage!?!? If my kids knew anyone involved in this crap, I’m 90% sure I would have heard about it already. If not, then I’m NOT the responsible parent I espouse to be.

Here is the lesson kids should be taught in school: Education!!!

OK, next: Teach them about Religion, the Founding Fathers, the History of the World, Science, Technology, ENGLISH FIRST, “Foreign” languages of their choice, and Mathematics. Don’t teach kids who shouldn’t be engaging in sexual activities about sex. Send them home or call the parents and get them involved if there’s a problem. In Fact, ask the Parents for help if there is an epidemic affecting more than a few kids. That’s not what this message says. It says:

“We hope that these messages will start you thinking about and talking to your child about the use of the internet and cell phones and how to handle the responsibility of today's technology”.

In other words, they didn’t ask permission to speak with our kids on the subject but they’re asking for us to talk with our kids. OK, ask us. Leave Our kids out of it. By the way, I like to teach my kids about the REAL dangers in school. It’s the predators that dominate the public education system to spread left leaning principles to young minds, to help bring about the downfall of liberty, the family, capitalism and replace it with the Nanny State. The haven’t quite figured it out yet but kids eventually grow into adults, and those with brains, a strong sense of self, ambition and ability will become conservative leaders of tomorrow’s society. The rest continue to be Libtards and vote for the Kenyan born “usurper” who grew up Muslim, only to worship in a Marxist Church. Since they couldn’t find one of their own, naturally born, they voted for the next best thing…a face who can read a teleprompter, and has an unnaturally deep voice because he smokes and hides his disgusting habit. Tell the kids who you voted for, what your Union spends money on and why, why you can’t be fired and everyone else can? Go ahead, tell them.

Education? What another crock of [four letter expletive]. What are your kids doing in school this week? The last day of school of the year is “Movie Day.” Of course the kids NEED to go to school so the school gets funding, and so they can “hang out” to be indoctrinated a little more. My kids are too smart to drink the Kool-Aid. I hope yours are too. From one Parent to another, Lets help each other take back our schools in the years to come. The state of education will not change for the better until Liberty is restored in Washington and then to the States. Communities and grass roots are changing the landscape and thanks to all those corrupt pukes in politics for awakening the sleeping giant in the American Majority.

Campus Messenger by Infinite Campus

Sexting (Sexual pictures + texting): What the Superintendent and the Saratoga County District Attorney want you to know.

Recently, your child attended an educational presentation about teenagers and "sexting" as part of a pro-active partnership between Shenendehowa School District Superintendent Dr. Oliver Robinson, Saratoga County District Attorney Jim Murphy and the Shenendehowa Community Coalition. We are fortunate that we have not had any serious incidents of "sexting" in our district, and we want to prevent "sexting" in our school and community in the future. While school districts around us have encountered unfortunate incidents of "sexting", and have had to involve law enforcement after the fact, we think it's important to be ahead of the curve. That's why we invited the district attorney to speak to our 7th and 8th graders. He presented information from actual cases involving poor choices that teenagers have made, some of which resulted in criminal consequences. He spoke about the dangers of on-line social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace, as well as the life long ramifications that result from a student "sexting". His presentation was especially created for middle school students and and was a message of prevention and helping kids make positive and healthy choices.

Unfortunately, sexting is a reality in today's world of cell phone cameras and your child could be a click away from posting or forwarding a nude or semi nude picture of him or herself on the web. A recent survey of middle schoolers in our state showed that 20% have posted or forwarded an inappropriate text message over their cell phone or on the internet. Parenting in the 21st century presents a new set of challenges that require new solutions. Like their parents before them, today's parents have to help their kids navigate school, friends, crushes, extracurricular activities and sexuality. But they also face a bewildering new world, driven by technology and media.

These tips may help you start a discussion with your child or help you make your own personal decisions for your family about the internet and access to cell phones:

Set limits on cell phone usage: While many parents have a hard time regulating the number of texts per month and have surrendered to "unlimited texting", you can control the hours that your teen texts. DA Murphy suggests determining a time when cell phones come out of the pocket or out of the bedroom and are placed in a central location on a charger along with your cell phone. Kids who are permitted to keep their cell phones in their room overnight on average get less sleep and are often times texting in the middle of the night. Limit the hours that your teen has phone access and set rules on when texting is appropriate.

Take laptops out of your child's bedroom: While computers and the internet provide wonderful educational opportunities and help teens study, they also provide 24 hour access to social networking sites, instant messaging and email. By removing computers from the teen's bedroom and placing them in a central location, like a family room or kitchen, teens are less likely to have inappropriate contact through the computer and are more likely to notify a parent about an unusual or disturbing email.

Keep computers in a common area: Studies have shown that teenagers are less likely to engage in risky behavior if they are accessing the internet in a common room or area where others are likely to be present. This is even true if no one is standing over their shoulder. Just the fact that you can glance at what is on the screen is enough to make kids think twice before going to inappropriate internet sites or having conversations with individuals who they may not know. Keeping the computer in a common area will help your child make safe decisions about their on line travels.

Know your child's username and password: While some parents and kids will groan at the idea of allowing you access to their social networking page, email account or instant messaging, it really is important. The fact that you have access to the information, despite the fact that you may never actually look, protects kids from making bad choices. What's more, in the unlikely event that something should happen to your child, you can quickly access your child's personal internet conversations and contacts in a matter of seconds rather than wasting valuable time while law enforcement obtains subpoenas or search warrants. In nearly all cases, a missing child has been returned or someone who is targeting a child has been apprehended once law enforcement is given the access to the on-line material. It's a small piece of information that can have remarkable results if necessary.

Talk to your child about cyberbullying: Today's bullies are no longer the stereotypical "tough kid" in school, but can often times be a physically small child or a straight A student. Cyberbullying can be round the clock with the internet and cell phones. It used to be that children could go home to be safe and get away form the bully. Today, that is no longer the case. With 24 hour access to technology bullying can continue no matter where the victim goes. That is why it is important to talk to your child about the ramifications about bullying and being bullied. If you feel your child is the target of cyberbullying notify law enforcement immediately.

Remember, once you push the send button it is in cyberspace forever: An unfortunate case of a girl who sent a semi nude picture of herself to her "boyfriend" resulted in him sending to his "friends" where it travelled the world in cyberspace and ultimately landed permanently on a Dutch pornography site. No one, including this poor girl, thought this would happen. Talking to your child about the consequences of pressing the "send" button is important.

We hope that these messages will start you thinking about and talking to your child about the use of the internet and cell phones and how to handle the responsibility of today's technology. We will continue to work with the district attorney and law enforcement in making our school as safe as possible and a model for other schools to follow. Please join us in keeping your children safe as they travel through cyberspace.

Kelly DeFeciani
Public Information Officer
Shenendehowa Central Schools
[Direct number removed] (518) 371-6000
